Who this is for: Written for providers, patients and attorneys who want to know where Braintree's role ends and the treating provider's begins.

Key takeaways

  • Braintree provides testing and physician-reviewed diagnostic reports. It does not provide ongoing treatment.
  • The treating provider stays in charge of the patient's care from start to finish.
  • A diagnostics-only partner removes the risk that referred patients will not come back.
  • When findings suggest specialty evaluation, Braintree helps coordinate it, and the treating provider decides.
  • Reports describe clinical findings. They do not advocate for any outcome.

Where the phrase comes from

Braintree provides mobile neuro-diagnostic testing and physician-reviewed diagnostic reports. We do not provide ongoing treatment, and we do not compete with the providers who refer to us. The treating chiropractor, physical therapist or physician remains in charge of the patient's care from start to finish. That is what "We diagnose. You treat." means.

Staying diagnostics-only keeps our incentives aligned with yours.

Why it matters to providers

An open journal with a pen resting on a blank page
A simple daily symptom log gives the treating provider a clear trend.

Many providers are wary of sending patients to outside companies, because sometimes those patients do not come back. A diagnostics-only model removes that risk. Our reports go to you, our coordination supports your referrals and your relationship with the patient is protected.

Why it matters to patients

Patients benefit from continuity. They see a provider they already trust, are tested in a familiar office and hear results from someone who knows their history. They are not passed between companies or pressured into new programs.

Why it matters to attorneys

A clear separation between diagnostics and treatment means the testing provider has no stake in ongoing care. Our reports describe clinical findings. They do not advocate for any outcome, and they offer no opinions on causation or admissibility.

Patients see a provider they already trust, are tested in a familiar office and later hear about results from a provider who knows their history.

What “diagnose” includes, and what it doesn't

A neurologist interprets the report; the treating provider then receives a copy.

Our role covers standardized testing (eye movement, neurocognitive and symptom measures, with brain-activity measures as one part of a physician-interpreted evaluation), physician review, a written report and help coordinating specialty evaluations when the findings suggest them. It does not include therapy, medication management, rehabilitation programs or legal opinions.

When a report suggests specialty evaluation, we help arrange it in consultation with the treating provider, and the specialist's findings flow back to that provider, who decides what happens next.

Questions we hear about the model

  • Do you ever treat patients you test? No. Treatment stays with the referring provider and the specialists they choose.
  • Who owns the report? It is part of the patient's medical record. A neurologist interprets it, and the treating provider receives a copy.
  • Will you recommend specific specialists? We can help coordinate options. The treating provider makes the decision.
  • Why not offer treatment too? Because staying diagnostics-only keeps our incentives aligned with yours.

Putting it into practice
