Hernando & Citrus Mobile Concussion Testing
Hernando and Citrus counties sit north of our Tampa Bay base, with long rural distances and many retirees. Testing here is scheduled case by case, so call first to confirm availability.
Who this is for: Written for small and mid-size practices on the Nature Coast, from Spring Hill to Crystal River, and for older patients and their families.
Key takeaways
- Hernando and Citrus are not a regular route today. Call 813-709-3771 to confirm scheduling availability for your office.
- Where testing is scheduled, technicians travel from Tampa Bay to the referring office. There is no local Braintree location.
- Older adults may have delayed or subtle symptoms, and blood thinners raise the stakes after any head strike.
- The process fits a small office: one room, a planned testing day and clear front-desk instructions.
- Testing days may be less frequent than in Tampa. We set honest expectations up front.
The Nature Coast
Spring Hill, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee, Inverness, Crystal River, Homosassa and Beverly Hills lie north of our Tampa Bay base. These counties are outside the areas Braintree has regularly served, so testing here depends on partner locations and referral volume. Call 813-709-3771 to confirm what can be scheduled before you plan a testing day.
Out here the distance to specialty care is real, and a dizzy patient shouldn't have to cover it alone.
Long distances, rural roads

Patients here can live far from specialty services. The Suncoast Parkway, US-19, US-41 and State Road 44 connect the communities, and many crashes happen on two-lane rural roads, at highway intersections or involve wildlife. For a patient with dizziness or blurred vision, a long drive to an unfamiliar office is a real barrier.
An older population
Both counties are home to many retirees. Older adults may notice symptoms late or describe them vaguely, and memory or balance changes can be mistaken for aging or medication effects. Family members often notice first. Our older adults guide and slip-and-fall guide explain what to watch for.

If a patient can't safely wait for a testing day, they need emergency care, not a schedule.
Fitting a small practice

Many providers here run small offices. Our process is built to fit: one quiet room, a planned testing day and clear instructions for the front desk. Because demand varies, testing days may be scheduled less often than in Hillsborough, and we will say so plainly during the briefing.
What you receive
Where testing is scheduled, a neurologist interprets the report, and the referring provider then receives a copy covering eye-movement, neurocognitive and brain-activity findings. The provider decides on treatment.
Nature Coast emergencies
Call 911 or go to the nearest ER for a worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizures, weakness or confusion. For an older adult on a blood thinner, any head strike needs prompt emergency evaluation. Don't wait for a testing day.
