Concussion Testing at Your Ocala Office

Lingering symptoms after a blow to the head deserve a closer look. We diagnose. You treat.

A concussion is a form of mild traumatic brain injury, and its symptoms are easy to miss in a busy practice. Braintree brings standardized concussion testing to treating providers in Ocala and across Marion County, so patients can be evaluated without another trip across the county.

Recognizing concussion

The symptoms that keep coming up at follow-up visits

Concussion symptoms do not always appear at the scene. Patients often describe them at a second or third visit: a headache that will not settle, feeling foggy at work, irritability, losing their place mid-sentence, or feeling off balance in a grocery store aisle. Light and screen sensitivity are common complaints too.

Those reports matter, but on their own they are hard to measure. Standardized concussion testing gives the treating provider structured information about cognition, balance, and symptoms, reviewed by a physician, to support decisions about care and referral.

Concussions in Marion County come from many sources: rear-end collisions on SR 200 and US-441, falls at home among older residents, youth and high school sports, and riding accidents in horse country. The testing model is the same regardless of how the injury happened.

For the treating provider

What changes in your practice

You keep the patient. Braintree schedules a visit to your office, performs the testing, and returns a physician-reviewed report to you. There is no handoff to an outside clinic and no need for your patient to find a way to another city.

For chiropractors and physical therapists, this can help when a patient's progress does not match the expected course of a soft tissue injury. For primary care and urgent care clinicians, it adds a structured look at symptoms that are otherwise difficult to quantify in a short visit. Our article on chiropractors adding concussion testing to PI care covers the practice side in more depth.

Testing, not treatment

Braintree's testing is diagnostic. It is not treatment, not emergency care, and not legal advice. Testing does not guarantee a diagnosis or any case outcome. The treating provider stays in charge of care.

If this is a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Mobile testing is scheduled through the treating provider and is not a substitute for emergency care.
