What Is Baseline Concussion Testing?
Baseline testing records how the brain performs before an injury so later results can be compared. Here is how it works.
A baseline concussion test measures things like attention, memory, reaction time and eye movement while a person is healthy. If an injury happens later, new results can be compared against that starting point.
Baselines are common for athletes and people in higher-risk jobs, but most people hurt in car accidents never had one. In that case, results are compared with normative data for people of similar age.
Braintree performs objective concussion and TBI testing at treating providers' offices across Florida. Ask your provider whether testing makes sense for you.
Testing does not diagnose or treat on its own. A physician-reviewed diagnostic report goes back to your treating provider, who decides on care.
